Deb Gold & Wendy McVicker
Deb Gold is a certified ICF coach who helps globally-focused individuals and organizations take practical pathways to transformation to create purposeful and impactful transformation out in the world. Deb feels that it is important to share her adoption story, of how she entered the world, and how it’s informed her actions ever since and how she encourages others to open to the wisdom of the world. Wendy McVicker, Athens' third poet laureate and longtime teaching artist, reads her poem titled "Flying Lessons," and she joins the conversation with Deb and Anna about how we can engage in hope-inducing experiments together.
Wendy McVicker reads "Flying Lessons," a poem from her chapbook, Zero, A Door. Wendy McVicker lives and writes in the beautiful green hills of Athens, Ohio. In her poetry, she seeks "to honor memory and the slow, deep process of knowing." Her poems have appeared in Appalachian Women's Journal, Confluence, Riverwind, and Whiskey Island, among others. She is a teaching poet with the Ohio Arts Council's Arts in Education program, and has been inciting poetry in schools, libraries, galleries, and community centers since 1987.
